Stamp Out Cancer Hop

Hi Crafty Friends,
I am so happy to be a part of Scrap N' Stamp's STAMP OUT CANCER Hop to bring awareness to Colon Cancer. A family friend of mine who I considered my second mom recently past from Colon Cancer so this hits close to home. Kim Skaggs was a huge part of my life growing up and into adulthood. She lived across the street from me in the suburbs of Chicago. My sister and I used to babysit for her kids and my mom actually used to babysit for her when they were young in PA. As we all grew up we became more than friends, we were FAMILY. We spent every occasion together celebrating birthdays, Thanksgivings, and Christmases with one another. When she received her diagnosis it was a SHOCK and as most who have been touched by this horrible disease know there are ups and downs. Just when we thought the colon cancer was beat it spread to other organs. CANCER JUST SUCKS. I made this card in Kim's Honor and I hope this hop will bring some awareness and donations to help STOP it and STAMP it OUT.
For more information about risk factors, screenings, and symptoms head here.

Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: Have you or anyone close to you been hurt by cancer? Share your story, Let's Fight Together
A: Me? Yes, Kim Skaggs and my grandpa died of skin cancer when I was young so STUPID cancer made me lose my chance to really get to know a GREAT man.

Here is Kim and I when we are young, we made her a birthday cake and some lemonade!
Here we are PARTYING at her daughter Katie's collage on Parents Weekend. She was the BEST TIME!

Please spread the word and make sure you go to your regular doctor appointments and get checked out. This hop was started specifically to raise donations/awareness of colorectal cancer, which our team member Nancy E recently battled. She is doing a “Push for the Tush” 5k walk/ 10k run later this month. Her story and donation page can be found here. 10% of the SALES at SNS this weekend are going to Nancy's Walk so GET SHOPPING!

Please visit the rest of the lovely ladies on this hop!

Live Life Like A Butterfly with Polka Dot Orchard

Hi Crafty Friends,
Just dropping in to share a fun coffee card with you. This gorgeous butterfly latte image is from Polka Dot Orchard and the second I saw it, I knew I had to use it with the Kat Scrappiness Butterfly Backdrop Die. They are a perfect match!

Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: Have you ever had a latte with a unique milk design like a butterfly?
A: Me? No, I don't really drink lattes but I have seen some cool ones on Instagram!

I colored the image to match the different shades of pink in the patterned striped paper. I die cut the butterfly backdrop and added some extra butterflies popped up with foam tape to accent the negatives. I finished my card with gems and Wink of Stella on the edges of the wings.

Digi Doodle Studios June Challenge: CELEBRATIONS

Hi Crafty Friends,
It's time for a NEW Challenge at Digi Doodle Studios. For the month of June the Challenge is CELEBRATIONS: BirthDAYs, Father's DAY, Graduation DAY, Wedding DAY....etc. I chose to do a BIRTHDAY celebration card with this gorgeous mermaid, Serina. I colored her to imitate my FAVORITE mermaid Ariel and colored her little clown fish friend like Flounder.

Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: What is your favorite song from the Little Mermaid?
A: Me? I love Part of Your World. I used to be able to play it on the piano ;)

I started my card with the background. I used Winnie & Walter Scenery Madison Creative Screening (looks like mermaid fins) and blending 3 Distress Oxide inks to match Ariel. Then I die cut my image using Kat Scrappiness Stitched Rectangle Die and matted it in pink. Next I add the little fish dies that I stamped the sentiments on. I finished my card with some beautiful I AM Roses flowers and Kat Scrappiness Jewels.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to enter the CELEBRATIONS Challenge at Digi Doodle Studios so you can win some beautiful digis! Your Next Stamp Guest Designer: You're Awesome to the Core!

Hi Crafty Friends,
I am SO EXCITED to be Guest Designing for Your Next Stamp this month! I will have 7 projects over this month from Your Next Stamp to share so subscribe and follow so you don't miss a thing! There will be giveaways too!
I'm from Chicago and this is the last week of school for all the kiddos. My sister is a second grade teacher and I know how hard a job it is to teach. I hope every parent is showing their child's teacher some appreciation this week whether it be a handmade card, a note of gratitude or a gift.

Make Crafty Friends Q & A:
Q: Who was your favorite teacher?
A: Me? My third grade teacher Mrs. Hahn. I still see her and send her cards!

I decided to do some paper piecing with this one. I die cut the scallop rectangle using Winnie and Walter Essentials Noelle Cutaway mounting it on white cardstock and then my base. I traced the edges with a black pen so it pops! Then I added the scallop circle with the darling YNS Applies. I finished my card with the cute little pun sentiment and the buttons.
